Happy Next
Ten Minutes
"In the English language, the
word "present" has three distinct meanings: "here", "now" and "a gift".
Is there a clue here, I wonder?"
Robert

Of course I
want you to have a Happy New Year. And may that start with the next ten
minutes. What might be possible if you really embraced the next ten
minutes? If you find yourself rolling your eyes at this moment ... stop!
In your life
- the days, weeks, maybe even years ahead - there will be a time when
what happens in ten minutes will change your world. Suddenly, you will
feel more present in your body and mind than ever before. You might hold
your breath or feel flushed. You will undoubtedly be deeply affected by
something that catches you off guard and nudges or shocks you awake. You
might reflect on how dramatically different this moment is than what it
was ten minutes ago.
Whether it's
a celebration, a reward, a confirmation, a gift, a renewal or a message,
you will in some way be starting over with something new. That moment is
coming for all of us and truthfully there are many moments like this.
In the
meantime, what will you do with the next ten minutes?
As I wished
people Happy New Year I thought about how overwhelming it might seem to
try and be happy for a whole year. And ... life doesn't always give us
circumstances that inspire happiness. What if we planned ten minute
happy breaks throughout our day to take advantage of all we really have
- this present moment.
Question
of the month:
“What is possible when you are fully engaged with the moment?”
