Why is this work so important? Everywhere we look, we see drama. We may not label it that way yet the key roles that define the Drama Triangle are obvious at every turn. It shows up in health care, education, politics, government, communities, churches and in our personal lives. It creates distrust, fear, animosity, isolation and co-dependency. There cannot be sustainable solutions to any problem if we are trapped in the roles of Victim, Rescuer and Persecutor identified by the Dreaded Drama Triangle™. Defaulting to these limiting beliefs is inevitable and no one is to blame. However, staying stuck in a system that supports and enables them, will systematically, over time, dismantle the good work that is being done to build trust and acceptance around the world. Now is the time to use the resourcefulness and power of The Empowerment Dynamic* to build solid foundations that will be the template for every opportunity or challenge that comes our way.
How did it start? Dr. Stephen Karpman pioneered this work in 1968 showing how the roles of the Drama Triangle create dysfunctional relationships both by default and intention. In 2006 David Emerald Womeldorff wrote the Power of TED* to introduce effective alternatives that have been adopted and embraced by those who want a more effective way of relating both personally and professionally. David and his partner Donna Zajonc have brought this groundbreaking work into the worlds of business, government, academia and a wide range of professional disciplines with immediate and lasting results.
